Yes, let’s do this.

realtimecastingHi, I’m Jim Kennelly of Lotas Productions and Realtime Casting. For over 30 years, I’ve been casting and producing voice overs with the best voices in the world. I love the voice over business. But, if you know me or have worked for us, you know I care about the people in the business even more. Here’s a little of my thinking about the new voice over industry and my company Realtime Casting.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward. There’s a thrill in just saying, “Yes, let’s do this.” You open yourself up to the unknown, with a lot of factors that can get in your way and slow you down, but there’s something to be said about taking a risk.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a little lingering voice in the back of my head that repeats “It will be fine, don’t worry“, over and over again. It comes around every time I’m faced with something that causes stress, or requires a big decision. It’s helped me get through hard times, and is always there to give me that extra push if fear gets in the way.

5 Year Plan
I started thinking about creating an online casting site that would reflect the “real” voiceover business that I knew so very well, almost 5 years ago. Realtime Casting is 3 years into a 5 year plan. We’ve had meetings with all the major agents in NY and LA, the new Sag Aftra team, Talent Partners and many others.
Realtime is up. And it works. Many voiceover friends, old and new, are getting jobs. We’re proud of every success. We’re casting voices for big shops like The Mill in New York City and for individual producers such as comedian KT Tatara. We have many clients here in the US, a few in Canada, and a production company, BKP Media Group in Dubai, who regularly cast voiceovers for the biggest agencies in the UAE.

New Realtime Castingrealtimecasting survey
A new simpler version of Realtime Casting has been in development all summer long. We’re really close to placing it into the market. We’re convinced it will give agency producers and new digital producers the tools they need to cast easily and work with the best voices anywhere in the US.

Online voiceover casting is here. Its use will build in the coming years. Emerging digital platforms are creating a renaissance in television viewing. And the opportunities for voice over talents are rising with it. Realtime Casting gives voice talents and their agents a chance to safely and securely enter this market. But, you’ll need to get yourself on board. If you’d like to see all that we’ve built and all that we’re doing, please check us out. Realtime is making use of all social media. We really think you should too.

Things are Falling into Placerealtime casting We’re grateful for all the voices and agents who have started working with Realtime. We’re a voiceover casting site run by voiceover professionals. We’ll make a few mistakes. But, when you find that you need change in your life, or feel you’re being pulled in a different direction, listen to your gut and get moving. Maybe you have a plan, maybe you don’t…
No matter what, things eventually fall into place.

  1. Everything I have seen on this site, including this post, impresses me with the candor and knowledge of the changing business. If any company can make online casting effective for both talent and clients it looks like they have a solid handle.

  2. Hi Jim. I don’t know if you’ll remember me, but you and Marion helped me try to get my VO career off the ground back in 2010 when I had an opportunity for Credit Suisse. Not successful, but not for lack of desire. I’m wondering if there is a way for me to do this and wonder if we could chat sometime so I might benefit from your advice.
Either way, I’m deeply appreciative and wish you and your loved ones continued good success.
    Regards, Barney. 917-363-6218.
